    You completely missed the angle that the number of people whose day to day lives are improved by amphetamine use could be underestimated. The article portrays amphetamine use as though the sole mindset is to improve one’s performance. This is runs directly against the modern psychology of self-medication, which ascribes it to a variety of causes, including low access to professional medical care, from which we suffer vastly here in the U.S.
